The almost 14 Km of white sandy beaches bathed by the warm waters of the Atlantic ocean are the main excuse for thousands of visitors to choose Punta Umbría as their holiday place every year.

In principle, the municipality has 5 different areas of the same beach that are part of a spit of land, each of them with their own characteristics:

  • La Ría
  • The Urban beach
  • Los Enebrales
  • La Bota
  • El Portil

Every year these beaches are awarded with among three and four blue flags by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe.

In the urban area we find the Ria beach with the Canaleta seafront, where in one of its sides we can find the English houses. With a quiet and familiar atmosphere it gives access to the Royal Maritime and Tennis Club, an undeniable interesting place for lovers of water sports and tennis. Just after the Ria beach we find the urban beach, open to the Atlantic ocean and with stalls and restaurants as main point of interest where the visitors will be able to taste the typical gastronomy of the village. Both beaches have the appropriate infrastructure to be used by everybody.

Just following this beach we find the Enebrales beach, a very beautiful stretch of golden sand surrounded by a chain of dunes crowned by pine trees and other relevant plant species creating a very attractive picture. Following the coast line there are the beautiful beaches of la Bota and el Portil, ending this one opposite to the splendid Spit of El Rompido, and having both a good set of services to be enjoyed by all citizens.
