The gastronomy in Punta Umbría is one of the most remarkable and best-known elements of our land. Our closeness to the sea provides us with the best ingredients that constitute the base of our gastronomy.

From the interior of our province, and particularly from the countryside,  we must highlight one of the stars of our gastronomy, the acorn-fed ham, especially the one handmade in the cool places in the village of Jabugo and other villages in our province. We must mention as well the Iberian pig meats and the excellent vegetables and fruits from the area, where the strawberry is the star being exported to the European continent.   

We are really proud of the wines from our land, especialiy those elaborate under Condado de Huelva denomination of origin which also includes some of the best brandys of the world.

Most of the restaurants in Punta Umbría serve a great variety of fish such as sole, meagre, golden bream or sea bass that can be grilled, baked or roasted on a bed of coarse salt.

Regarding seafood, the most remarkable products of the area are the white prawn, the striped venus clam and the wedge clam.

In Punta Umbría two great gastronomy fairs take place annually: the Striped venus clam and Wedge clam National Fair and the Coast of Huelva prawn and seafood National Fair.
