In many hotels, especially those of a higher category, guests are offered a unique and personalized experience to ensure their satisfaction during their stay. From the decoration of the rooms or common areas, to the variety of dining or entertainment options, everything is designed to make customers feel comfortable and enjoy their vacations.

However, in some cases, this personalization can lead to a lack of clear information about the basic rules of coexistence in the hotel.

It is true that hotels can sometimes be reluctant to communicate certain rules or restrictions for fear of upsetting guests and making them feel uncomfortable. Some fear that this could negatively affect the reviews or evaluations that guests can give on online platforms. But is it really worth avoiding talking about these issues for fear of criticism?

Not adequately informing guests about the basic rules of coexistence can result in a bad experience for other clients and for hotel employees. Excessive noise, non-compliance with the smoking regulations, inappropriate use of the facilities, excesses in the buffet, lack of hygiene, theft of belongings or being disrespectful to other guests are just some examples of problems that may arise When the rules are not clear.

Also, when a hotel does not clearly state its standards, it can create an environment of impunity where guests can act irresponsibly without consequence. Hotel employees may feel powerless in situations that may upset other guests, but they don't know how to address them without creating conflict or discomfort.

For these reasons, it is important that hotels clearly and concisely communicate the basic rules of coexistence from the moment the guest arrives at the hotel (check in). These rules must be clear, simple and easy to understand. They can be presented in a simple information brochure at the reception, on the hotel website, or both.

In short, adequately informing guests about the basic rules of coexistence is essential to guarantee a pleasant and satisfactory stay for everyone. Hotels need to stop fearing criticism and be clear about what is expected of guests during their stay. At Hoteles Pato, we care about the well-being and safety of our clients!
